Pre-school age children are so ready to learn, so precious in their wonder about the life around them. They want to know everything and constantly ask questions. They beg you to read them stories. You are the most wonderful person in the world. Moms everywhere agree that their child’s pre-school years are the most precious years of their lives. They also complain that their children grow up too fast. Sending them away to school just doesn’t seem right when they are so young, but they don’t want their precious children to get behind on their work. What are these mothers to do?

Why they can create their own home school pre-school. Even if home schooling your children is the last thing on your mind, you might want to try a pre-school home school just to test the waters. You can just start small. Pre-school isn’t a requirements for children so attendance compliance don’t apply.

Most local school supply companies have lots of materials for little children. You can easily find everything you need to have your own pre-school in your home. If you live in a small town without a Home School Pre-school store, shop online. Research these companies and find a curriculum appropriate for your child’s age.

Now that you have found your curriculum and age appropriate materials, pre-school is in session. At first you should start small, just an hour or less at a time. If your child seems happy and seems to want to work longer, give him more assignments. Don’t make it seem like work; make the school work seem more like play.

Pre-school age children need lots of play. If they seem tired with your pre-school, let them rest or find another activity that your child usually enjoys. Going outside for a while may help.

If you know other mothers who are home schooling your very young children, make play dates so they can play together. When they are playing, you can add some of your lessons into their play together.

If you want to create a pre-school home school for your children but feel that you are completely unqualified, you should visit your local school and ask to meet a pre-school teacher. The teacher might even allow you to visit her classroom to see what a public school pre-school is like. The teacher may also give you some materials. You never know what kind of help you can get until you ask.

Having a pre-school home school for your child is a great idea if you are a stay-at-home mom anyway. If you are so inclined, do a little research, talk to some people, and buy some materials and you are on your way to a real live pre-school in your home.
